Personal Statement :
Are you anxious?   Do you have problems with your kids' behavior?   Do you or your children have ADHD or a learning disability?   Do you know why your relationship is failing?   Are you non-assertive?   Do you have a crummy self-esteem?   Do you have addictions?   Do you have a mood problem?   If any of these are your reason for being on this site, call me.

I've been a therapist twenty-five years and have seen thousands of clients with just these  concerns.   In therapy, I use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), which works very well for anxiety, relationships and self-esteem issues.   It also is very effective in reducing addictive compulsions and mood problems.   I'm also separately trained as a child psychologist, so I have lots of experience in behavioral approaches.   My office number is: 760-746-8355.

I've also written five ebooks about fixing some of the above problems.   They are:  How To Diagnose and Treat Your Anxiety, The Five Steps of Assertiveness, How To Change Children's Behavior (Quickly), Why Relationships Fail and The Four Powers of Self-Esteem.   These ebooks are stand-alone publications, but it turns out, greatly speed up therapy.   For more information, go to:  http://www.psychologyproductsandservices.com

Client Profile :
I am an informal, low-keyed warmer fuzzier type. I try to relate to people with lots of support and no judgment. My practice is filled with marital/relationship and employment problems. I am a child psychologist, too, so I sub specialize in kids issues. Addiction issues are very common, with or without the 12 Step Programs. Mood issues, including anxiety are things I regular encounter. Relationship and employment problems are "regulars" in my office. Clients range in age from about two up to about nine-two. I have no preference for gender, sexual orientation, color, religion or anything else.
Payments/Condition :
All forms of managed care are accepted, except Medicare. If I'm on the insurance panel, its OK. So far, I'm a member of about forty MCO's (Managed Care Organizations). These include PPO's, HMO's, EPO's and EAP's. My website will soon have a thorough list of all of them at: http://www.drgriggs.org. I'm not yet a vendor for credit cards, but I'm considering it.
Avg Cost (Per session) :
$90.00 - $90.00
Credentials/Training :
I have three separate degrees--Social Psychology, Counseling Psychology and Clinical Psychology from Indiana University (IU), then United Stated International University at San Diego (USIUSD), which is now called Alliant University when it merged with California School of Professional Studies (CSPP). In addition, as a beginning graduate student, I worked with San Diego County psychologists and psychiatrists for three years in a psychiatric facility. Prior to completing my Ph.D., I took three, six-month rotations with San Diego County Mental Health for my pre-doctoral internship. These were in Outpatient Child Psychology, Inpatient Adult Psychology and Outpatient Adult Psychology. My post-doctoral training was with a private psychologist as a Psychological Assistant.
Office Hours :
Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., four days a week. On Mondays, I'm in Encinitas CA at: 760.943.8590. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays I'm in Escondido, CA at 760.746.8355. (Both telephone numbers go to the same voice mail, so you don't need to call twice.)
